About the Garden

The Scented Walled Garden is in the north east corner of Ravenscourt Park in west London. It is laid out in traditional Victorian symmetrical design with rose beds, rose arches and exotic herbaceous borders. It has been restored with support from a volunteer group, "Friends of the Walled Garden", working with the LB of Hammersmith & Fulham, over the last 20 years from a little-used and overgrown tangle of weeds to a beautiful, tranquil garden enjoyed by the local community.

What We Do

The Walled Garden is maintained by a group of volunteers from the local community - see our stories in Garden News & Stories.

We meet monthly and sometimes more often, rain or shine, to dig, weed, prune, transplant, trim and tidy the garden.

We have expert guidance from George, head gardener of Ravenscourt Park, for the last 40 years.

Who We Are

The "Friends of the Walled Garden"are an group of volunteers who maintain the garden.  We started way back in 2002 with support from the Ravenscourt Society and the LB of Hammersmith & Fulham. We're not all expert gardeners, just enthusiastic volunteers! We are all ages, some people come with their children.

Join us!

We meet on the first Saturday of each month from 10:30am - 12:30pm. Come along for whatever time you have spare. We provide garden tools (spades/forks/wheelbarrows etc).

Covid: We can share tools again but if you have gloves and secateurs do bring them - or  your own tools - trowels, forks, hoes - if you prefer.
