Garden volunteer, Fiona, shared the photo of the rose bed which was weeded at the March gardening day. Careful weeding protected all the pretty blue scillas - the Siberian squill - which despite its name is not a native to Siberia. The dainty spikes of nodding, star-shaped blue flowers bloom in early spring and they return year after year. Also, they have nectar rich blue pollen which is a favourite for the bees!
